HomeDietsDiet Trends › The Least Unhealthy Candy Choices

There's really no such thing as a healthy type of candy, but in honor of Halloween, today we're looking at which choices are the least unhealthy. You might be surprised by some the sweets listed here!

Mounds: This classic chocolate candy bar filled with coconut delivers 250 calories and 11 grams of fat, but helps make up for it with a few grams of protein and a little fiber.

Hershey's Special Dark: Dark chocolate unleashes the health benefits of cocoa far more than other types and also contains fewer calories and grams of fat.

Raisinets: These chocolate-covered raisins are a nice sweet snacking option. The chocolate isn't too heavy and the raisins provide an infusion of antioxidants and fiber. One serving contains only 41 calories, but beware the trap of misleading portion sizes; a serving is only 10 pieces.

3 Musketeers: With its light and fluffy composition, a chocolaty 3 Musketeers bar is relatively low in calories (240) and especially fat (7 grams) compared to most other candy bars.

Chocolate Covered Nuts: No specific brand to cite here, but it's easy to find chocolate covered almonds, peanuts, pecans and more. These put a sweet twist on a generally healthy snack, because nuts come packed with protein and healthy fats.

Jelly Beans: These colorful fruity morsels are a good choice if you can limit your intake. They don't have a ton of calories and they have no fat. A serving of 20 beans contains 90 calories and 18 grams of sugar. Not too bad.

Twizzlers: Like jelly beans, licorice contains no saturated fat, and the caloric content isn't horrible. One serving equates to four pieces, and checks in with 150 calories and 18 grams of sugar.

Jolly Rancher: Like other hard candies, Jolly Ranchers are recommended for one main reason: They are long-lasting, which makes it easier to limit yourself to just one. Whereas we tend to scoop handful after handful of other bite-size sweets, a  single hard candy will keep releasing its tasty flavor for a lengthy stretch of time. Plus, they're fat-free and somewhat low in calories.
